Jazz Lies at Aurelius

After a world-razing calamity, an African American novice detective, gifted (or cursed) with a synesthetic ability to hear every lie as discordant jazz, navigates the labyrinthine halls of an opulent yet carnivorous academy for the gifted elite, where lessons double as psychological battlegrounds and each witty exchange is a veiled act of theft. As he investigates a string of enigmatic robberies advertised as vaudevillian performances for the faculty, he must decipher amorphous signals and neon-bright prophecies, knowing one false note could plunge the city—already teetering on collapse—into a symphony of irreversible ruin.
