Across centuries, three cursed spirit-walkers—once lovers, now exiles—manifest as both fairies and fevered memories at the edges of pivotal historical tragedies, from the Trail of Tears to an imagined 1870s Paris dreamscape haunted by Western obsession with the ‘noble savage.’ From the kaleidoscopic vantage of each woman and their confessional shop’s myriad customers—lonely artists, dying warriors, vengeful widows—desire becomes a contagion; every plea for comfort sparks an existential metamorphosis, transforming each participant according to their deepest fears of death and meaninglessness. When the embodiment of native draconic myth appears demanding collective atonement, the boundaries of love, identity, and survival collapse, leaving everyone—fairy or mortal—to reckon with what must be destroyed to reclaim one’s own soul.
