On a jagged coast where the fog never quite lifts, a lone lighthouse keeper hears the foghorn sound a second too long—then watches a fisherman in the nearest village blink as if waking from someone else’s dream. Each blast rewrites a different memory, stitching over grief, disguising betrayals, and even erasing the proof of a long-buried bargain the town swears never happened. The keeper learns there’s no pause button: the next dawn brings another cycle, and with every rewrite fewer people can remember who they are without the lighthouse’s mercy. To stop the process—or survive it—must decide which truths to let be swallowed by the mist and which to fight to keep, even if the “saved” history condemns someone innocent.
